Elizabeth has accepted multiple opportunities to be involved in a collaborative work environment with a community of people that work toward a common goal of excellence through research and education while always being mindful of patient care. Her intervention strategies are rooted in a combination of social interaction and linguistic theories with the underlying premise that cognition and language development directly influence each other, and language development occurs through social interaction. Being an open minded, accepting person, she feels, is one of her best clinical tools for providing family and teacher education while being sensitive to cultural diversity and promoting support to develop communication skills across settings.
