Janine Benner received her bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University Long Beach. She has 31 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist and 23 years of clinical practice in pediatrics. Her main interests and clinical expertise are autism spectrum disorders and early intervention. Janine is a school-based speech-language pathologist in Desert Sands Unified School District serving preschool and elementary-age children. Before working in the schools, Janine was an Assistant Professor at Loma Linda University in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She developed and taught undergraduate courses in autism spectrum disorders, language disorders in children, a graduate-level Issues in Public School Speech Pathology course, and an SLPD course in neurodiversity. She also supervised graduate students in the University's off-campus autism and early intervention clinics and mentored graduate student research in early intervention and autism spectrum disorders. Janine provides continuing education courses and professional development workshops on autism spectrum disorders, neurodiversity, and early intervention for school districts, online continuing education platforms, and internationally.
