Douglas Bryan Petersen, PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-CL
Dr. Petersen is a Professor and the Maggie & Dick Scarlett Chair in Speech-Language Pathology in the Division of Communication Disorders at the University of Wyoming. He is a certified speech-language pathologist with several years of clinical and research experience. His research is driven by a desire to greatly increase the prevalence of academic success for all children, including those who are culturally and linguistically diverse. His research is focused on multi-tiered systems of support, principles of dynamic assessment, and their application to language and reading assessment and intervention. His work focuses on turning the complex arena of language into simple, efficient, and effective assessment and intervention procedures. Dr. Petersen's research has resulted in dynamic assessments for decoding and language, progress monitoring tools for decoding and reading comprehension, and multi-tiered systems of support for language.
